Nvidia CEO Confirms Blackwell AI Chips Remain Restricted from China Amid Global Demand Surge
Nvidia Corp. Chief Executive Officer Jensen Huang reiterated the company's stance on withholding advanced AI chips from China during a visit to Taiwan. "There're no active discussions. Currently, we're not planning to ship anything to China," Huang stated in Tainan, emphasizing that any market re-entry WOULD require policy changes by Chinese authorities.
The semiconductor giant continues to dominate the AI hardware race, having added $1 trillion to its market capitalization within months. Despite recent stock fluctuations, Nvidia maintains its position as the world's most valuable company, surpassing Apple Inc. and Microsoft Corp.
Huang's Taiwan visit precedes meetings with key manufacturing partner TSMC, part of a global tour that recently included Washington and South Korea. The 62-year-old founder is capitalizing on unprecedented demand for advanced computing systems across industries worldwide.
